CRLEAA Meeting Minutes
The meeting was held at the Howard County Gateway Building, Columbia, MD
25 agencies were represented at the meeting. 44 people were in attendance.

Absent Treasurer
1) The meeting was called to order at 10:10 a.m. Chief William J. McMahon of the Howard
County Department welcomed everyone to Howard County.
2) The minutes from the June were not approved, as they had not been written yet.
3) There was no treasurer’s report.
4) Old Business - None

Nominations:
Position of Secretary: Carl Shinner, from Greenbelt was nominated to fill the vacancy with Lee
Potter’s upcoming retirement. He was unanimously voted in office. Lee Potter turned over all
the secretarial records.
Position of Treasurer: Vice President Tami Bulla received a verbal notice that Patti
Beauchamp was resigning from her position as treasurer. Newly promoted Capt Carolyn
Consoli from the University of Maryland, College Park Campus was nominated. Elections for
this will be held at the December meeting.
Vice President Tami Bulla requested that everyone review a list of current members and
advise her of any changes.
SRIC proposed standard
A brief discussion was held on the proposed standard, which addresses Elder Abuse.
Christy Goddard, CALEA Program Manager, advised that the comment period was closed and
a majority of the comments were negative towards making this a new standard. SRIC will
address this at the November conference.
7) Christy Goddard, CALEA Program Manager, was the guest speaker. She talked about
the new On-Site Assessment report and the new update to CACE, which is due out later this
month.
Standard 25.1.3 changed from OOMM to MMMM
Standard 52.1.5 changed from OOOO to MMMM
Standard 42.2.8 changed the word identify to identity
Standard 71.3.3 SRIC has not decided what to do with bullet “A” – weapons control
8) The next meeting will be held on December 14, 2007 at CALEA headquarters in Fairfax,
VA.
